Ibis Hadeda

Ibis HadedaThis is one for the birders, A common sight in the Lowveld and across South Africa, The Hadeda is seen in gardens and sidewalks in cities and towns, There is a rumour that they are afraid of flying, Every time they take off you can hear them crying faaark, faark and you rarely see them up high. They live on insects like crickets and seem to be particularly fond of the parktown prawn, the most horrific of insects known to ladies that garden and ladies that don't.

The Ibis Hadeda is easily identified by its long curved beak, grey plumage and green sheen on it's wing.
